Our English and Tennis Programme is the ideal preparation for international players who wish to improve their English Language skills whilst continuing to keep up their tennis, as well as for players new to the game who wish to improve their skills in both tennis and English.
Our professional coaching team have all played and competed at a high level both
in the UK and internationally and are keen to share their experiences and tips with all
participants.
Players will attend their English classes in the morning session, following a dedicated syllabus according to their level, combining the essential skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening, with a strong emphasis on improving fluency and communicating with others
in the class.
After lunch, players will join their tennis group (again grouped by ability) and spend the afternoon improving their skills on the tennis court, whilst continuing to communicate in English.
Players will have the opportunity to play on grass, hard and Astro courts in picturesque and prestigious surroundings. With over 15hrs of tennis across the week, players will take part in
hand-fed and live-ball drills, point play and match practise, focusing on both the tactical and technical aspects of the game. Each session will focus on a different specialty ensuring players improve in every aspect of their game ahead of a final end-of-week tournament!

All students are expected to participate fully.
Progress Evaluation: Teachers will monitor students’ progress and understanding throughout the week, and short assessments may be used to ensure they are improving. The Director of Studies reviews all assessments to ensure students remain in the most appropriate group and may adjust where required. General Details
Morning English sessions take place from 9-12:30pm every day (except for the full-day
excursion) and include a short break for a mid-morning snack. The lessons are designed to
complement each other, working on a weekly theme. The lessons’ activities will allow
students to work on all of their language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) as
well as improving their accuracy, increasing their vocabulary and fine-tuning their
pronunciation.
Afternoon sessions offer more choice for students to pursue activities they are interested in
– options range from cookery, media (film and photo projects), sports, and arts & crafts, as well as offering additional short classes in conversation; pronunciation; debating and
presentation skills. All students are encouraged to continue speaking in English in their
activity session.
